Strategic planning
Nexus is charting out the National Education lifecycle for Singaporeans to provide a comprehensive and coherent National Education strategy. This enables agencies to synergise and build on one another's efforts.
We are also formulating a systematic and integrated National Education framework that will serve as a guide to help us plan, package, deliver and evaluate National Education initiatives.
To further enhance synergy in the various National Education efforts and create opportunities for networking and learning, Nexus organises the NEtwork Conference for National Education practitioners and other activities. It brings together National Education practitioners from all sectors to share their experiences and best practices, and to discuss current issues and challenges.

National Education for MINDEF and SAF
The National Education (NE) Training Road Map, which is developed by Nexus, is an overarching approach to inculcate NE among personnel from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), in a systematic an progressive manner. This roadmap charts the National Education training that MINDEF and SAF personnel will receive at various stages of their careers.
Nexus also organises National Education courses for MINDEF and SAF personnel. The objectives are to strengthen commitment to the defence of Singapore, instill confidence in the capabilities of the SAF and gain a better understanding of the security, economic and social challenges facing Singapore.

National Education Resources
To equip our National Education practitioners for their talks, Nexus produces a variety of resource materials such as videos, briefing notes, lesson plans and case studies. We also provide resource packages and newsletters to keep them updated on the latest National Education-related information.
Nexus also houses National Education resources produced by our partners, e.g., videos, CD-ROMs, resource kits and various types of National Education collateral. This repository is updated regularly and is available to National Education agencies and practitioners.

Total Defence
Nexus spearheads the annual Total Defence (TD) campaign, in collaboration with other National Education agencies – a clear example of our commitment to strengthening relationships and building synergy with our National Education partners.
The TD campaign comprises an anchor event to promote the core messages, resource packages for secondary schhols, and a programme for MINDEF and SAF. Other year-round publicity efforts that Nexus undertakes to promote TD include editorials in newspapers, TD Badge programme for secondary school uniformed groups, and TD tours for MINDEF and SAF units. Nexus also manages Total Defence Online, an online resource portal on TD.

National Youth Achievement Award (NYAA)-Nexus Project Grant
The NYAA-Nexus Project Grant is a seed-funding scheme jointly set up by the NYAA Council and Nexus. It aims to incentivise Singaporeans and Singapore residents to initiate, design and carry out projects that are related to the theme "Things That Make Us Singaporean". The projects should also foster the personal development of participants in areas such as leadership, event management, marketing and promotions, teamwork and budget management.

Encounter Defence seminars & camp visits
The S-Cube concept depicts how security provides the foundation for our survival and success as a nation. Every year, Nexus runs a series of Encounter Defence seminars and camp visits based on this concept for teachers and students from junior colleges, polytechnics and centralised institutes.
These programmes provide participants with an appreciation of the importance of maintaining a credible defence force and the need for National Service. It also seeks to instill confidence in the SAF's capabilities.
